I am an uninsured pregnant person; can I give birth at the Toronto Birth Centre?

The TBC is the third option for birthing when in care with a midwife. Delivery at the Toronto Birth Centre is provincially funded, regardless of OHIP (Provincial Health Insurance) status. You need to be in care with a midwife that has credentials to use the TBC. You can visit the Association of Ontario Midwives website (www.ontariomidwives.ca) to find a midwife in your area or contact ICEC Hannah Desjarlais to complete a request for care at [email protected] or 416-366-8080 ext. 203.

I live outside of Canada; can I birth at the Toronto Birth Centre?

The TBC is for residents of Ontario. To be able to birth at the TBC you need to be in care with a Midwife that is credentialed with the TBC.

I am an International midwifery student, would it be possible to have my placement at the TBC?
