“I am a midwifery student with a background in fine arts. This poster was created as part of a third year midwifery placement at the TBC.

The poster is a reminder to everyone in the birthing space that consent is important. I believe that healthcare providers can change the culture of obstetric violence by actively seeking their clients’ consent for treatments, touch, exams, etc. This poster is meant to empower clients to take up space by asking for what they want and need. It also reminds clients to check in with themselves and their body and learn what it feels like to say, “yes” or “no”. Please use it freely as a tool!”
